The Central Highlands Digital Enterprise project conducted activities branded as DigiBiz. These training and development activities were managed through the Centre for eResearch and Digital Innovation (CeRDI), which is located within Federation University Australia (FedUni). Through research, knowledge transfer and commercial activities, CeRDI promotes innovation through the application of new technologies.
DigiBiz was a two year project and concluded in December 2014. During this period, 150 workshops were held, with over 3000 attendances. 700 organisations received post-workshop, one-on-one mentoring. Activities were funded through the Australian Government's Department of Communications.
Local and state government stakeholders supported this project as an important localised economic development initiative. In-kind and actual contributions from all partners supported a dynamic training and skills development initiative that increased the uptake and use of broadband enabled technology inside and outside the Central Highlands region.
